What a Month!!!!

Since the week before Xmas I have had emergency surgery (not a big deal but had to be done fast and unexpectantly), Type A Influenza and sinus infection and we also have been having the kitchen renovated..They moved the cartons of cabinets in on January 4....

My health is just perfect...physically...not sure how I'm doing mentally!  :) One of the contractors today said I've been real good.  That's really good news to me.  I did tell him that I really felt that I was ready to blow.  Hope they're gone before that happens because they have been the best!

These two young guys (our sons' ages) have been a joy to have here.  They are professional and so smart.  They have gone above and beyond what Denny and I ever expected.  Their eye for detail is amazing.  They have made our kitchen so pretty and everything was done so perfectly.

AND...they are so much fun to be around.  Now for me to say I like having workmen here everyday first thing in the morning is a stretch for sure!  I like to have my coffee with Denny and then do a couple 'work' projects and then about 10 a.m. get dressed for the day.  Now every day at 7, I am dressed with hair and makeup done.  C'mon....that's not my definition of retirement!  !!!  Now granted, Denny 'works' everyday and I have noticed he is taking off earlier each day than 'PRE-remodel'...whatever, it's all good!

Denny and I both dreaded this 'remodel procedure'.  We have gathered names of construction groups in the area for a couple years.  We called these guys in and got a couple estimates.  We liked these boys.  They looked professional and we went with them.  What we're saying is that if any of you need totally reasonable estimates (of which they hold true) on projects you need done, you gotta call these guys!  VORLUN CONSTRUCTION.....Nate Lunn and Mike Vorhies....they can do ANYTHING.  I will stand behind that!  We will stand behind that!  Just give me a call!

Now the BIG P.S.....also since Jan. 1 I have had my first IPAD and a couple weeks ago bought a WINDOWS 8 desktop computer!  Now I have been out of the 'computer world' since retiring so am having a difficult time learning all this new stuff.  And then it's having to learn 2 new systems.  I was pleased that I got everything set up ...got the printer installed...and got the farm books and the Quicken program up and running.  I've done some other things but at the present time I have managed to erase my .myfmtc.com email from both computers.  The only way I can access it is by going to the netins.net website and signing in.  I also have no idea how to access my photos to edit on the desktop Windows 8, of which I have 18, 155,  and therefore can't upload any of them nor copy or print.  I have some photos on the IPAD4 but don't know what to do with them.  I also can't print emails that I do receive on either system...so until I figure this out, if you want to contact me you can use my landline or cellphone; Facebook or whitey5000@msn.com and I'll catch you immediately!

Point is:  I will post pictures of the kitchen soon and will also add a few recipes soon.  Actually as soon as I figure out how to do it!  :)   Right now, tonight, I am waiting for pizza to come out of the oven.....that's all I am expecting at this point!  The granite came today and it's beautiful...but we have no water in the kitchen till tomorrow (the guys are coming on a Sat. to hook it up so we'll have water in the kitchen...I told them it could wait till Monday and that they didn't have to work on Sat. but Mike said he'd run out and do it for us...that's the kind of guys they are).

SO....We have Brodie here today and the kids are coming tomorrow.  Can't wait for them to see the kitchen!

Basically, I LOVE my life!  I just want it to be back soon to the GOOD OLD DAYS of being in my nightgown till 10 with no makeup and uncurled hair....and having a NEW KITCHEN to cook up a storm in

Have a great weekend....I know we will!
